New technologies, such as mobile telephony, the Internet,
and interactive digital television are challenges for the researcher, challenges
that we accept by developing appropriate research methodologies and adapting
tools already in use to the new fields.
Modern technologies, despite being so bound to innovation, often give rise to the most traditional of research problems. These are related to:
-
the size, structure, and potential of the market,
-
means of usage and related attitudes,
-
consumer satisfaction and loyalty,
-
brand image,
-
advert effectiveness.
When conducting studies of this kind we make use of the experience we have gained in such projects as well as the knowledge gathered by our partners at Research International conducting such studies in many countries all around the world, including Japan, Great Britain, the United States, but also in countries where the level of technology is similar to that in Poland. This allows us to identify and understand the specific nature of problems related to the launching and functioning of innovative technologies on the market.
For studies dealing with use of the Internet we use the WebClinic research methodology developed by Research International, and providing the answers to many research issues including:
-
the functionality of Internet pages,
-
assessment of www site content,
-
evaluation of their appearance,
-
ways they are used by web surfers.
We also offer comprehensive tests for new and established web sites, identifying those elements incomprehensible to Internet users, giving rise to navigational problems, or simply considered badly designed by their potential users. Such studies can be conducted both among individual customers and in the dynamically expanding business-to-business sector.
New technology does not only mean an area of research for us. It also means a modern tool assisting the conducting of research studies. The CADAS system we have developed and launched is an integrated research platform capable of linking interviews conducted using laptops (CAPI), over the telephone (CATI) and via the Internet (CAWI), and was specially designed to cater for Pentors requirements.
